Photoshop for dummies October 8, 2009 N. Allen (Wrexham, north Wales) 72 out of 77 found this review helpful
Over the years I've used Elements 2 and 4 (still have 4 on my laptop actually) and they have served me well. If you want in depth editing, then this won't really be the product you want, and if you have £600 floating about I'd highly recommend going down the Photoshop CS route.
This being said, Elements 8 is absolutely fantastic. The interface took me a few minutes to get used to (which in itself is good as a new product normally requires hours of rummaging around) and the 3 settings you have at a click makes editing photos an absolute snap. The guided mode is the best for immediate no frills editing, which is probably what you'll use most if you are using a decent and properly set up dSLR, as you'll generally only need simple dust removal, flares, etc cleaning up.
For this money, I'd say BUY IT NOW.

Excellent product delivered next day on normal p&p rates. Bravo Amazon! You will find this product performs much better if your PC has at least 1GB of RAM and a Pentium processor, I would reccommend 2GB or more RAM. The Organiser is difficult to take control of but percevere and you will reap the rewards. The Edit suite is excellent and the new Photo Merge utility gives you HD results under a different name.
Makes my photos even better November 16, 2009 B. Robertshaw 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
Having used a simpler photo editting program, this is brilliant. It allows easy editting and allows some errors in camera to be corrected. Adobe Camera Raw is very useful, especially the fill light function for back lit shots.

This is an upgrade for a previous version I had.
Fabulous new appearance and it does everything
- although I am still on the quite steep learning
curve and haven't discovered everything it can do
yet. However so far it has done all the things
I've tried, and excellently. I have no doubt
that I shall appreciate it more and more as I
get used to it!
The best organizer there is. February 13, 2010 Sheena Woodhead 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using Elements 3 for years but with a new computer I thought it was time I upgraded. Other reviews stated that the software was not fully compatible with Windows 7 64 bit so I first downloaded the trial version from Adobe. I found no problems whatsover so purchased the full package. I use Nikon Capture NX 2 for raw processing so only use the editor for cloning and perspective control, however, in my opinion, the organizer is the best on the market. I find the stacking feature especially useful and the fact that when you click on an image you can tell immediately from the properties tab where on the hard drive that image is stored.
