Product Description Traditional Chinese-style Flying Lantern. Send your lantern soaring to celebrate New Year, Weddings, Birthdays, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Diwali or any other special event. It will fly for up to 20 minutes and can rise over a mile in the sky - where it will still be visible all around! Traditionally used in Chinese and Thai celebrations, these are a beautiful and fascinating way to light up the sky that's becoming increasingly popular throughout the world for any kind of event. Flying Lanterns are traditionally known as 'Khom Fay' or 'Khom Loy' in China and have been used for nearly two thousand years. It was believed that wishes written on lanterns would rise up to the heavens and come true. The Sky Glow Flying Lantern is made from flame-retardant, bio-degradable materials and the frame is made from Bamboo - a wood that is quickly replenished. A quieter, gentler alternative to fireworks, flying lanterns are the safe, simple and perfect way to create an amazing visual display in the sky!

Really very, very, lovely! April 26, 2009 Mr. Hm Bennett (London) 38 out of 39 found this review helpful
Bought these on a whim for my wife's birthday from 'Wish Lanterns' who delivered them well-packed and quickly.
We each lit one, my wife, myself and the two kids (they lit theirs first, of course!)
They were utterly magical and it was fascinating to watch them soaring to quite some height over North London. There'll be few UFO reports in Harrow, I bet and several of the neighbours will be buying them now.
I cannot recommend these highly enough, the kids were thrilled out of their skulls. The lanterns are extremely beautiful and quite some size so you get to watch them float for ages.
These are one of those purchases you will feel really pleased about.

This is an excellent product and kids were thrilled. Great for any occassion / function. I would prefer this to loud firecrackers. But dont use this on a windy day and be careful while unwrapping the lantern. Will certainly be buying more (coloured ones as well).
If you want lanterns, get these ones May 13, 2008 Mrs. J. A. Crow (England) 32 out of 34 found this review helpful
I bought my lanterns from "Light A Lantern". I can see that this advert might sound like its from the seller or a friend but its not, its genuine (i am a customer). The reason i write about them is because they managed to get my order to me within 2 days as i desperately needed the lanterns for a very special occasion and left the ordering too late (not recommended!!!). I was nervous and concerned that they wouldnt arrive but "Light a Lantern" pulled out all the stops and whats more is they responded to an email on Bank Holiday providing me with a contact telephone number to contact them on bank holiday!!! Excellent communication. The actual lanterns were a triumph. These are brilliant lanterns and if you want something special it truly works. its a beautiful and magical moment and well worth the money. We used them to them to remember some special friends....
Magical! April 5, 2010 K. Mooney (Liverpool) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Quick delivery and very well packaged. I've had quite a few of this type of lantern in the last year but never from Light a Lantern before. I've had the multicoloured ones which are best in the day I would say so decided to order the all white ones. These come with the fuel cell separate so you have to attach it yourself which is dead easy. Don't forget to take the paper off the fuel cell first! The best way to light the fuel cell is to use one of those long clicker lighters you can buy for a pound from any poundland (other poundshops/lands/worlds are available!)You should light the four corners to get an even flame and this is the easiest way I've found. Hold the paper body up away from the flame (two people make this an easy job) and after 30 seconds you will see/feel the lantern filling with gas. When you feel like it's trying to lift off (after about one and a half to two mins from the fuel cell being fully alight) just let it go straight upwards! We let one go (no jokes please!) the other evening as it was going dark and it was brilliant! We watched it for what seemed like ages. We actually watched it go through some low lying clouds, brilliant!
